Starship Character Sheet Template
Starship Creation
PLEASE NOTE: You can create your unit by submitting a post containing their character sheet in the Proposed folder of Starships section of the Databanks, the Starships section can be found in the Space Combat division. Once your character sheet is approved by a storyteller, it will be moved to the Approved section, you will be then asked to make a copy of it on Roll20 and in your Google Sheets under the Starships section. Once the unit's character sheet is approved by the storyteller it cannot be changed, however new, updated variants of a unit can be submitted with a new proposal. Your Google Sheets may contain unapproved units, for example if you are using it to draft future unit before submitting them. If there is ever a discrepancy between your various character sheets, the Approved character sheet will be the one utilized. If at any point information about hero creation in Stars Without Numbers Revised rulebook contradicts information on the forum, go with what the forums specify as it was homebrewed. Please keep in mind weapons and equipment list available for starships is separate from other lists and can be viewed here.
Step 1: Choose your starship's size, ranging from 1 to 10, each level of size costs additional 2 points, the vehicle's size times 2 equals to the limit of weapon batteries that can be mounted on it, size 1 vehicle can have 2 weapon batteries mounted on it, size 10 can have 20 weapon batteries. A single starfighter squadron counts as a size 1 starship. Maximum size is 10.
Step 2: Record your starship's hit points, they equal to to their size times 12. For starfighter squadrons the hit point number is equal to the number of starfighters in the squadron and is subjected to modified rules.
Step 3: Record your starship's Movement, default Movement is 5 units, regardless of size, every additional 5 Movement points to this rating cost 1 point. Starships gain a +1 bonus to their AC, the default is AC 9, for every 5 Movement units spent within the Movement Phase and a -1 penalty to their AB, so a starship that moved 15 hexes within Movement Phase would have an AC of 12 and a -3 penalty to attack for that round. AB penalties from movement can be negated with a successful DC 10 Pilot check from the starship's crew at the end of the movement phase.
Step 4: Record your starship's Armor Rating, this rating is subtracted from damage of every successful barrage (Multiple attacks by the same unit or by multiple units in the same squad) done against the starship, the default is 0 and it costs 1 point to increase it by a level, the limit is Armor Rating 10.
Step 5: Record your starship's Armor Type, the default is None, it costs 5 points to upgrade it to Light Armor and 10 points to upgrade it to Heavy Armor. Light Armor reduces damage of all weapons that do not have Heavy property by half, Heavy Armor grants immunity to all weapons that do not have the Heavy property.
Step 6: Record your starship's required Crew which equals 10^(Size rating). For starships of size 1 require 10^1=10 crew, size 3 require 10^3=1000 crew, and size 10 require 10^10=10,000,000,000 crew. This is the number of soldiers that must always be on board of the vehicle for it to function, it costs 1 point to reduce this rating by 1. Crew rating of 0 means that the starship is automated and can function without a pilot. Starfighter squadrons require a Crew equal to their hit point number.
Step 7: Choose your starship's weaponry, if any, and record its cost
Step 8: Choose modifications (linked in previous step) for your starship, starship weapons cannot have modifications on them, limit 1 Armor Modification, and there is no limit on General Modifications or Starship Perks
Step 9: Add up all the points spent on the starship as its total Point Cost, if you want to determine how much the starship would cost in credits multiply the point value by 1000.
Step 10: Finally, record the Faction to which your starship belongs and the name of its Starship Type
